Pop rock band Aryans doesnt need an introduction for sure. They unfolded the teen romance with their first song Ankhon mein tera hi chehra and went on to charm many music lovers with their melodious music. Now DJ Narain and Sadashiv aka Sadu are again back with bang with their upcoming rock album. In a candid chat with us, Aryans share their short hiatus from the music industry, their music album and a lot more...So where had they been? We have been busy working on our album which is slated to release.
Its our first rock album and the essence of its music is very contemporary and rock-oriented. Meanwhile, we have also sung for Sanjay Gupta's Woodstock Villa Kyun (the song) which was shot on Sanjay Dutt, and was quite a hit internationally as well.
The number being quite different from the contemporary romantic numbers they have been doing, ask them was it a deliberate effort? We aren't following any trend. We were always a rock band. And you can say this is the right time to serve this music. Post Rock on!! now even a layman at least knows what rock music sounds like. Our music is exclusive. And if you havent heard a sweet rock, listen to our new album. That sounds promising. But is the duo doing any film music? Yes, our kitty is full right now. We are composing for Sanjay Gupta's Alibaug and films of director like Deepak Tijori, Guddu Dhanoa, Sanjay Suri and Anurag Basu which are untitled at present. So, being a rock band, how do they rate the music of Rock On!!? It was good for a begining. Unlike the original composers of Rock On!! Shankar Ehsaan Loy, it were the actors who gathered all the limelight. But sadly in India, the film adds credibility to the music not the musicians. While that sounds a lil disintegrated, we ask DJ Narain and Sadu what has kept them going together till now? Our wives have been really upset with this because we spend more time together than with them. On a serious note, we are friends first and then musicians, and that bond has kept us united so far. But didn't they ever feel the need of any other inclusion in their band? On stage we are five people which includes, DJ Narain, who is also an IIS officer, Taqub Shastri the lead guitarist, Sunny Sarathi the drummer and Atul, whos a basist, says Sadu, who otherwise is a CEO of a pharmaceutical company. He adds, On stage we are a complete band and yes, we do compose songs, pen down lyrics and have a common vision. Music is our passion not profession. With many other bands mushrooming, do they feel the pressure of competition? In rock there is harldy any competition, so no pressures at all. We are here to rock and we will rock on! In fact, like the artistes in the West, we have kept our condition to work in films as well. And we will compose like a rock band only, they say as they bid us goodbye.
